Tell us about your work placement experience.
Indiana University Recreational Sports has been a fantastic work placement. On the job, I have had the wonderful opportunity to meet many great individuals and have had the pleasure of providing high quality experiences for all participants.
What is something you have learned through your work?
After being with this organization for a year, I have learned leadership and communication skills that have extended into all aspects of my life. I also have gained more experience in serving others' needs to the best of my ability, along with sparking simple but meaningful conversations.
How will being a part of the Cox Scholars Program help you in the future?
Being a part of the Cox Scholars Program is clear proof that working hard and focusing on what truly matters in life yields great success and character. The determination to bring a maximum level of energy and effort to my worksite every day will transfer into the career path that I choose. Removing the financial stresses of a university education has allowed me to truly explore the wide range of experiences that I might not have had the chance to take part in.
What is your favorite memory as a Cox Scholar?
Without a doubt, my favorite memory as a Cox Scholar was leading the newest class of Cox Scholars during the inaugural week of Camp Cox. As an Assistant Program Coordinator, I had the opportunity to lead and mentor this group of first-year scholars during their time participating in the LeaderShape Institute, along with providing them with fun activities that created amazing memories.
What do you do outside of the Cox Scholars Program?
I enjoy participating in intramural pickleball and flag football through IU Recreational Sports. I also love being a part of the Jill Behrman Color the Campus 5K Steering Committee and a member of the Kelley School of Business Honors Program. I also like to bowl and attend IU sporting events.
