Robin Walker is the Assistant Director for the Cox Scholars Program. As for most visitors to IU Bloomington, it was love at first sight. Born and raised in Central Florida, Robin relocated her family to Bloomington in January 2007. She formerly worked as an executive assistant with the Walt Disney World Company. Robin’s favorite Disney characters are Winnie the Pooh and Tinkerbell, from whom, she believes, everyone could use a little pixie dust every once in a while.
Robin joined the Cox Research Scholars Program in 2010 after working in the Office of the Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer. She was promoted to Assistant Director for all the Cox Scholars Program in July, 2019. Besides taking care of day-to-day administration duties, Robin also has the fun job of planning events and loves partnering with other departments across campus. She returned to college and earned a bachelor’s degree in natural and mathematical sciences in December 2013. It was the Cox Research Scholars who inspired her to return to college to finish her degree.
Robin is also an advisor for the Delta Phi Epsilon sorority here at IU, treasurer for the Southern Indiana Alumnae Panhellenic, and a member of the IU Alumni Association - Monroe County Chapter. In her spare time, Robin enjoys spending time with family and being an advocate for autism awareness and individuals with disabilities.
