Tell us about your work placement experience.

My workplace has been nothing but wonderful to me. They have given me a great
deal of trust and responsibility which has allowed me to be able to work on big
projects for the organization.

What is something you have learned through your work?

I have learned many things from my work at CASA. Just from the organization
itself I have learned how important and impactful it is to be a CASA volunteer
advocating on the behalf of children in court and connecting with members in our
community. I also have learned many skills such as handling and working with
sensitive information, increasing organization outreach, and team communication.

How will being a part of the Cox Scholars Program help you in the future?

Being a Cox Scholar has allowed me to grow not only personally, but professionally. I will be able to utilize the skills I have learned from working in a non-profit organization and apply it to my future endeavors. With the support of Cox Scholars, I will be able to successfully receive my undergraduate degree here at IU. I hope in the future I can also be just as much of a support system to incoming scholars as this program was for me.

What is your favorite memory as a Cox Scholar?

My favorite memory as a Cox Scholar was being a part of the panel for the new scholars and being able to answer questions and give them advice. I love being able to share my experience and help ease any nerves the new scholars may have about beginning their college journey.

What do you do outside of the Cox Scholars Program?

Outside of Cox Scholars I am a part of the Human Resource Association which is
a professional student organization that strengthens the skills of students studying
Human Resources.
