Sarah Fogleman began working as Coordinator of the Cox Research Scholars Program in August 2021. In her work, she enjoys connecting students with IU faculty members to work on research projects, learning about students’ research and ideas, and meeting people of differing interests and backgrounds. She strongly believes that understanding and becoming familiar with the work involved in academic research can be very empowering, especially for undergraduates.

Sarah is originally from northern Minnesota and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Latvia from 1998–2000. She earned a dual M.A. from the Russian & East European Institute (REEI) and School of Library and Information Science (SLIS) at Indiana University and most recently worked as the program coordinator for REEI’s Russian Studies Workshop. When she is not working, she loves to study languages (Latvian, Russian, & Norwegian), play card games with her family, and travel.
